| Seed collection was carried out for three consecutive years (2008, 2009, and 2010) in four areas of Yucatan (Conkal, Kiuic, Xcunyá, Yaxché). Studied plants were Ipomoea hederifolia, I. nil, I. triloba, Merremia aegyptia. From each plant, mature completely dry fruits with fully developed seeds were collected. The seeds were placed in envelopes and incubated under controlled conditions. Beetle specimens were identified to the subspecies level and sex. All specimens were labeled and deposited in the insect collection of the Centro de Investigacion Cientifica de Yucatan (CICY). This data set belongs to the following manuscript: Canto, A., Rodriguez R. and Reyes, E.
